STORY BEHIND THE NAME
The term FAUVES derived from the word Fauvism, an art movement that flourished in Paris from the 20th century which provided interesting developments in the use of vivid expressionistic and non-naturalistic use of color, brushwork and abstraction.
The Fauves were a specific group of painters who painted with a similar style. The art of fauvism is characterized by bright colors, it’s simplicity, expressiveness and abstract genre. The colors did not have to be true to nature, necessarily. They could be changed to show emotion. Because of the violence of their works, the people in Paris, dubbed the painters fauves (“wild beasts”).
Two influential artists of the time were Henri Matisse and Paul Signac.

As Fauve artists used pure, brilliant color aggressively applied straight from the paint tubes to create a sense of an explosion on the canvas, Therefore, FAUVES goal is always to create designs tailored to our clients’ unique personal style and practical needs without leaving the real essence of the Fauvism. The typical traits of Fauvism are unique in their ability to appear both timeless and innovative.

After serving 7+ years of experience to builders/architects and professionals in the area for residential, commercial and hospitality, Harleen K started the company FAUVES in early 2019, and has gone from strength to strength doing a number of bespoke spaces in Delhi NCR.
Harleen K describes herself as very tasteful and have a varied sense of styles form classy and elegant to transitional and eclectic. She appreciates art, all kinds of beauty and color. According to her, Colors have to match and blend perfectly, using neutrals and pops of color. Hence, at FAUVES, Colors and materials are revived to create an abstract spirit of her designs.

Harleen K’s forte is fabricating your dream and to give it the colors of tangibility. She revives motifs, forms, curves and lines to change the reminiscent into a possible palpable reality and thus her tagline famously reads as Unique, not ordinary. Her design style and ethos are steeped in India modern.
